This 4 days gorilla trekking biking safari takes will enable you explore Volcanoes National Park well known for Gorilla trekking in Rwanda through a biking adventure. Ride through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas. Your biking safari begins from Kigali urban settings into the village setting of Musanze, this park is a habitat to variety of primate species that you may encounter during your trekking. You will also be to encounter a number of bird species and other wildlife. You will also have a visit to Iby’ Iwacu cultural village to get an insight of the Rwanda culture, and watch their traditional ways of living as you have chance to interact with these ex-poachers. This is quite amazing, all you got is to keep pedaling, as you have got a greater chance to interact with local people and see things as close as you can.
Day 1 : Transfer to your hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will later transfer you to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation options. Marriott hotel (Luxury lodge) or Chez lando hotel (Midrange) or Quiet Heaven hotel (Economy hotel). Meal Plan: Dinner
Day 2 : Ride to Volcanoes National Park. Travel time +8 hrs
Today after taking your early morning breakfast, you will be met by biking safari guide who will brief you shortly before you start riding to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park where you will have your dinner and overnight stay with an en route lunch along the way to one of the local restaurants. Accommodation option: Five Volcano Boutique Hotel (luxury lodge) or Mount Gorilla View lodge (Mid-range lodge) or La Palma hotel (Economy lodge). Meal Plan: Half board.
Day 3 : Gorilla Trekking & Cultural visit
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, ready for a village foot safari on you bike, to explore the indigenous local life with a taste of the traditional performance. You will as well later ride around before returning to your lodge. Day 4 : Ride back to Kigali and transfer to airport
Today after your relaxed warm early morning breakfast, you will ride back to Kigali with an en route lunch along the way in one of the local restaurants. You will later be transferred to airport to catch up with your flight to your home country. Meal Plan: Full board. End of service!
NB: You need to have some good biking skills and MUST have done biking before as it is hilly and steep where you will be biking. This is quite challenging, but rewarding at the end.
